Let’s face it, therapy can be quite intimidating but also the most meaningful experiences one can endure in their life. Despite it feeling uncomfortable at the start, this can also be an empowering step towards feeling seen, heard and understood. Counseling can provide individuals support through a safe and nonjudgemental space where they can freely express their authentic selves and move towards fostering better wellness. My work is tailored through a person-centered approach, drawing from modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, solutions focused therapy alongside a strengths-based perspective. Elements of somatic therapy is also intertwined, where individuals have a clarity of the connection between their mind and body, furthering the understanding of ways trauma can be carried within, whether its physical or emotional. My sessions with clients are a collaborative journey where clients can feel that they are taking action to achieving their goals. I typically describe this as my client being in the drivers seat, with me alongside in the passenger seat navigating the roads ahead. Together, the client is empowered to choose their own direction, and if they come across uncertainty, they have the control to change lanes to a clearer path. It’s an honor to work with each and every one of my clients, supporting them to regain their sense of self combatted with getting access to their strengths. Whether its working through anxiety, depression, trauma or just the transitions I will be there with my clients every step of the way and support them in a way that feels safe for them!
